Early Life and Career

Howard Simon Bernstein, known professionally as Howie B, was born on 2 March 1963, in Glasgow, Scotland. He began his music career as a DJ in the early 1980s, playing at clubs and parties around London. In 1988, he released his debut album, "Music for Babies," which was a critical and commercial success.

Breakthrough with Björk and U2

In the early 1990s, Howie B collaborated with Icelandic singer Björk on her groundbreaking album "Post." His production skills and innovative sound design helped shape the album's distinctive trip hop aesthetic. He also worked with U2 on their album "Pop," contributing to the track "Discothèque." These collaborations established Howie B as a sought-after producer in the electronic music scene.

Subsequent Career

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Howie B continued to release his own music, including the albums "Turn the Dark On" (1999) and "Music for Astronauts" (2004). He also produced and remixed tracks for various artists, such as Madonna, Massive Attack, and Depeche Mode.

In recent years, Howie B has focused on his own music, releasing the album "No Regrets" in 2018. He continues to tour and perform worldwide, showcasing his eclectic sound that blends elements of techno, ambient, and soul.
