Guardians Lively Ok After Exiting With Contusion

## Guardians' Lively OK after exiting with contusion ### Pitcher Aaron Civale set to rejoin team on road trip

Cleveland Guardians pitcher Aaron Civale exited his second rehab start with a contusion on his left wrist. Despite the injury, manager Terry Francona says Civale is OK and is set to rejoin the team on their upcoming road trip.

"He came out of it OK," Francona said. "He'll continue to play catch and everything. He'll join us on the road trip."

### Civale's injury update

Civale's injury occurred in the third inning of his rehab appearance with the Triple-A Columbus Clippers when he was hit by a line drive. He was able to record two outs before exiting the game.

Civale has been on the injured list since May 22 with a strained left wrist. He made his first rehab start on July 22, allowing one run on three hits in 3 1/3 innings. He was scheduled to throw four innings in his second rehab start.

### Looking ahead for Civale and the Guardians

The Guardians are hopeful that Civale will be able to return to the starting rotation soon. Francona said that Civale will likely make one more rehab start before rejoining the team.

Civale's return would be a boost to the Guardians' rotation, which has been hit by injuries this season. Civale was 4-6 with a 5.40 ERA in 12 starts before going on the injured list.
